About the BCDMOA
Established in 2008, BCDMOA is a non-profit society advocating for over 50 community-based destination marketing and management organizations. A respected industry leader, its diverse membership represents a range of communities in terms of size and scope, with over $100 million in spending on strategic tourism marketing and management projects.
BCDMOA is a vital information resource for its members while serving as a professional network for the mutual exchange of ideas and knowledge.
June 20, 2026 – The BCDMOA has officially hired a Manager!
The Board of the British Columbia Destination Management Organization Association (BCDMOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thom Tischik as Manager. “We are excited to have Thom as our first dedicated manager of the association.’ Stated Jikke Gyorki, Board Chair. “Since the inception of the BCDMOA back in 2008, the association delivered support to over 50 community tourism destination marketing and management organizations. Our new manager position will allow us to go even further to assist community and regional tourism agencies throughout the province.”
Thom has been in the tourism industry since 1977 and has seen significant evolution in the industry over the years. “I’m looking forward to connecting with all of my fellow DMO communities and regions throughout the province over the next several months and support the amazing work they all do to this industry and the province of BC.”
